Welcome to Snooze town

If I'm going to be perfectly honest, this game was a bit of a snooze fest. Before the third period the only thing that I can say that is interesting is that Cam Ward was on fire tonight. I think if he hadn't been on his game the Leafs would have definitely scored more than two goals and would have probably won in regulation. To sum up the game, unless you fell asleep during the last 7 minutes of the game, you wouldn't have missed much.

The first goal of the game came with about 5 minutes left in the third from Tim Connolly. About three minutes later, none other than, Alexei Ponikarovsky (surprised I can still spell his name, this is an accomplishment) ties the game up on a power play.

Overtime it is. Mind you, Tim Connolly scored his second of the game just 44 seconds into overtime, so we didn't have to wait too long for an outcome. But I mean, it takes you just 44 seconds in OT to score, could you not have done that earlier...people have Storage Wars to watch! (I'm not complaining, I just find it funny that it took them almost a whole game to score and OT was just so uneventful).

Reims was awesome, not really pressured tonight, but was strong when we needed him to be. This was our first win at home in while, and Reimers first win since he's been back, so hooray on that front.
The Leafs play Buffalo on Friday. What's with these long waits? I don't like it at all.

Now that's what I call a game

Tonight's game was incredible. It proved the skill and speed the Leafs have this season, despite the two quick goals by the Rangers (one was a 5 on 3). But we were able to hold the lead with the help of Jonas Gustavsson. The Monster was truly on his game tonight making some, for lack of a better word, monster saves.

Why couldn't we play like this against Boston, huh? Being a Leaf fan makes me question my sanity sometimes, I swear.

The Leafs pretty much dominated this game. Their speed made the Rangers run around a lot. Kessel got 2 assists on the night bringing his beautiful tally up to 34 points, still the leader. Cody Franson scored with a rocket shot in the first and Connolly and the red hot Lupul both scored in the third to make it 3-0 before the Rangers came back. Steckel scored the empty net goal for insurance (final score 4-3). And that Dion Phaneuf hit? Beauty.

Games like this make me so happy, and I just want every game to look the same. Obviously that won't happen, but hey, a girl can dream.
The Leafs play the Devils tomorrow. Let's bring the same level of intensity! Please and thank you!
As always,
